GreatBritishTurd vs. AshcrementVII was a YouTube Poop Tennis match played as a part of the Tennis Cup 4, taking place between April 30 and May 12, 2012. It was played as part of the Set 2 lineup of matches in the tournament, where GreatBritishTurd had previously defeated uwilmod and AshcrementVII had previously defeated FullCap. The match is themed predominantly around the use of various film and TV adaptions of Sherlock Holmes, including the 2010s BBC series starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, the 2009 and 2011 films starring Robert Downey Jr., select episodes from the middle 20th century TV adaptions, select Sherlock radio-play broadcasts from earlier in the 20th century, and The Great Mouse Detective(1986), AshcrementVII's long-running signature source. Other sources that make appearances throughout the match include My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Stiens;Gate, Waterloo(1970), Napoleon Dynamite(2004), the Bugs Bunny short "Napoleon Bunny-Part"(1956), the Steely Dan songs "Black Cow"(1977), "Green Earrings"(1976), "The Fez"(1976) and "Pretzel Logic"(1974), the Eluveitie song "Uxellodunon"(2012), the Megadeth song "Hangar 18"(1990) and the Hans Zimmer composition "Discombobulate" from the Sherlock Holmes(2009) original soundtrack.
Seeming to be raring to go, GreatBritishTurd uploaded the match's serve, "The Great Exterminatus of Baker Street"(2012), almost immediately after the Set 2 lineups were announced, days before the set was officially scheduled to start. It was however rapturously received, particularly winning over AshcrementVII himself, as it fully set the tone for the direction the match was to head in and represented an unexpected, complete departure from the style for which GreatBritishTurd was best known for in tennis. While there are select elements of visual editing that are present and built upon, much of the match is based in a more classic style of exchange, with many quick joke edits and source additions along with sentence-mixed wordplay traded between the players including the repeated sentence-mixing of each other's names. ChrisGendo declared this match her favorite of the tournament at the time[1], and it has subsequently been considered as one of the best and most memorable matches to have come out of the Tennis Cup 4. GreatBritishTurd ended up winning this match with 11 votes to 4, which was commended by AshcrementVII through a separate video upload, "Victim of a Great British Turding"(2012), acting as a coda to the match and a celebration of it taking place.
