Tennis League 3

Tennis League 3 or TL3 was the third tennis tournament of the league format, and the fourth tournament overall. It was fourth and final tournament that was principally organized by Gallers but became largely hosted by Terrorist, starting on August 2, 2008 and becoming officially failed by October 19 of that year. It was intended to be closer in style to that of the Tennis Cup in its voting style with the only major difference being the matches sticking to just 4 rounds; the amount of participants as a result of this were twice the amount of the second league, dividing everyone by four groups. It is notable for being one of the few tournaments to fail outright due to the eventual lack of replacements for players that dropped out.

Despite the ill fate of this event, it was the first tennis competition to feature ThaNuke, zacheatscrackers, Erarg, Aesaun, WowComics, RealGenericFilms, vvaluigi and Rillion. It was also the final tennis competition to feature NS2, Temeku/MTB710, TheDarkRises and UncleChuckTH, and the only competition to feature DrKelexo and thewafflemaster.

Originally, RAKninja was aiming to be the host of the next Tennis League, conceiving of a team-based format in July 2008 where representing players would compete across pre-determined team matchups, with a host account being used in order to allow for specific player lineups to be a surprise during the event. This idea got as far as initial preparations and signups; out of the 7 teams that organized, there exists evidence of a "Team WMM", a "Team Tennis Fucks", a "Team Hogan" and a "Team FOXHOUND" in the old Tennis Cafe thread of this time. RAKninja however became inactive due to real life events, leaving the official commencement of the event in limbo, and Gallers' unexpected appearance to start his own take on the Tennis League 3 ended up taking precedence. He would lay his claim to the invention of the League format in his organization, saying "None of that team bollocks or owt like that", and participants would be extended to allowed for 4 divisions in this event, double that of the Tennis League 2. Gallers himself would not participate however, and after only two weeks his motivation for hosting the event would rapidly vanish. He would transfer control of the tournament over to Terrorist, then a moderator of the YouChew forums, and Gallers would then retire from tennis entirely. RAKninja's concept would be later expanded upon over the next year and take place in the much more elaborate form of the Tennis Season.
