Match Voting Tournament 2

The Match Voting Tournament 2 (abbreviated as MVT2) was a Tennis Tournament hosted by mrdoognoog in 2021. It was the 18th tournament held overall, the second tournament in the "match voting" style, and the second tournament of the YTPMania era.

Codenamed "TTournament 2021", it was long discussed whether to have the next tournament be match voting or another Doubles Cup. It was eventually decided that the Match Voting concept was best to bring over to the budding tennis community on YTPMania (as many players from MVT did not return) and move Doubles Cup 4 next in line. This was the first of three tournaments to use the voting account "tournamentacc", described by mrdoognoog as "almost entirely utilitarian" due to Smonge, YTPMania's owner, having a strictness about alt accounts and the "lapse of YouChew knowledge" regarding the community's past history with being more playful with these accounts.[1]

The two winners were mrdoognoog and system128. system128 became the third ever player to win two tournaments, and the second ever player to win them both consecutively. This is mrdoognoog's first (and so far only) tournament win.

MVT2 was the first tournament to feature Boundless, DavidYTP and ApproximateOstrich, the last tournament to feature Morshe, CRJ1, hyk, BENT_DATA, and gsgiraffes, and the only tournament to feature Nonojuju, GirlaPH, Mark, Template:Ananas1234, Mr. Trollinator, java, captaingoosehead and 40Two. GameBop and CheeChee later returned to tournament play in the 3-Way Tennis Tournament 2 of 2024.

Nonojuju vs Mark

This match, also known as Everywhere at the End of Tennis, followed a similar dementia pattern that was explored in the Caretaker's Everywhere at the End of Time series of albums. Like the music it was inspired by (and the actual condition), the rounds begin to "forget" themselves as time goes on before eventually devolving into straight static.

The final round is split up into three parts, each one longer than any other round in the match.

Boundless vs. Mih3ll

VidTens443 vs. DavidYTP

saper vs. False Flesh

captaingoosehead vs. nmfourtyone[x]

mrdoognoog vs Metroid998

This was the highest rated match of the set.

It revolved around the British parody series "The Day Today", taking footage from many episodes across the show. The final two rounds provided a quiz to its viewers; in round 5, questions were asked about the previous rounds of the match and presented via a google form. In round 6, the answers were revealed along with how everyone did.

Nonojuju vs. CheeChee

Zekii vs. GameBop[x]

DatCorrupterGuy vs. mapo[x]

hyk vs. 40Two[x]

Set 4

hyk vs False Flesh

DatCorrupterGuy vs system128[x]

Zekii vs saper

captaingoosehead vs mrdoognoog

This match was themed around pizza, similar to the 4th poop chain. Particularly, it featured an advertisement for Mark's Pizzeria, The Pizza Minigame from Spider-Man 2, as well as many others.

While this match fell below the voting requirement, it was later decided to let both players move forward anyway as it was impossible to arrange the final four in a way that would avoid a rematch.

Set 5 (final)

Rather controversially, hyk was booted from the tournament despite their win, due to rude behavior outside the tournament.
