Doubles Cup 4

The Doubles Cup 4 or DC4 was a Tennis Tournament held in 2022 on the YTPMania forums. It was the fourth (and most recent) competition under the Doubles Tennis variant, and the nineteenth tennis competition overall. After the unique layout of the Doubles Cup 3, the Doubles Cup 4 marked a return to the classic tournament style matches of the Doubles Cup 1 and the Doubles Cup 2. The winners of this tournament were the duo of system128 and Zekii, making system128 the third player to win two tournaments, and the second to win them consecutively.

Due to this event occurring during the nadir of YTPMania's lifespan, with an attempt being made by the current new generation of the community to focus operations on the short-lived Pinchbacks forum as well as The Tennis Isles, documentation of the Doubles Cup 4 is among the most fragmented and peacemeal of all tennis tournaments that have taken place. This was the second of three tournaments to use the voting account "tournamentacc", described by mrdoognoog as "almost entirely utilitarian" due to Smonge, YTPMania's owner, having a strictness about alt accounts and the "lapse of YouChew knowledge" regarding the community's past history with being more playful with these accounts.

This was the first tennis competition to feature RaymanChrome, Gabiwoda, Letycjusz S., infinitysnapz, ApproxamiteOstrich, YooY, and AngryLuigi23, the last competition to date to feature Metroid998, and the only competition to feature chammeleon and EdotJdot. Metroid998 was the only player to return from the Doubles Cup 3, while dani_phantump returned from having previously been in the Doubles Cup 2 a decade previous.

This iteration of doubles cup followed a format closer to DC1 and DC2 - there would be four 'solo' rounds for each player in a set, then two collab rounds at the end.

Like DC2, it also has seven matches total. All rounds are accounted for and archived.
