Tennis Cup

The Tennis Cup, retrospectively known as Tennis Cup 1, was a Tennis Tournament hosted initially by Gallers and subsequently by Christoph that was the first of the cup format, the third tournament overall, and the first one to be officially billed as a Tournament. Marking the beginning of the proper YouChew forums era, It ran from May to August 2008 and was the largest tournament to happen at the time, with 32 participants and nearly all of them having considerably at the time some kind of large following either within the community or beyond. It's eventual winner would be Ishkibibl, who was notably influential in the development of an editing technique known as "frame scrambling", as well as within the developing YTPMV scene of the day.

This would be the first tennis competition to feature RAKninja, NS2, theHappyFungus, Nuthead, Crash2991, Terrorist, Temeku/MTB710, MAZZ0Murder, Luioigi, uncle69er, TheDarkRises, GreatBritishTurd, TheRoboticRobot, Fiddlesticks411, and Markie, the last tennis competition to feature Gallers himself, and the only tennis competition to feature MilkR0und, Intenseowl, ophios, Domorat0, Ishkibibl, Captpan6, Sonicnerd23, FourTwoNineStudios, AbsoluteBillion, Trogdor7190 and GameCubeHero. It is also the only tennis tournament where the entire active Tennis Cafe Staff, first formed around this tournament's inception, participated in at least one match at the same time.
