Wildcard Tennis is a special type of tennis that adds "wildcards" - special restrictions - to each round. Generally, these wildcards would be different per round, chosen by the player who just finished to give to their opponent alongside their completed work. It was originally invented by Crash2991 on January 31, 2008, and gradually refined into the form we currently understand it over the course of that year.
These restrictions could go from simple (like an entirely monochrome video) to extreme (like forcing you to only use one effect)! Some wildcard matches will also stack restrictions on top of each other, making it harder and harder to make your next video. You have to be careful what you recommend!

- RabbitSnore vs. Crash2991(2008), the first match to be played under this variant
- Moogle vs. RabbitSnore(2009), a Tennis Season match of the Wildcard variant where both players activated the "Forever Wild" ablity, meaning each round had three conditions applied to it.
- JazzDanceForChildren + TangerineImpz vs. RAKninja + Crash2991(2009), a Tennis Season Doubles match given Wildcard rules by the latter two players.
- GameBop vs. Combuskenisawesome(2009), a Tennis Season Wildcard match known for having very extreme restrictions for the time.
- The Tennis League 5 had wildcard matches as one of its special match types. VidTens443 vs. dani_phantump(2019) used the Wildcard variant to apply "Oblique Strategies" conditions to rounds.
