Sploltoen vs. Piodx is a YouTube Poop/Video tennis match that took place exactly two months from August 17th to October 17th, 2009. It is most well known for its fifth round, which helped spawn the F25 Key meme.

As was commonplace for both players, the match is very loud and abrasive. Piodx's style involved heavy use of Particle Illusion, one that was also commonly seen in his rematch with GameBop. Other plugin staples of the time like NewBlueFX and Wax received generous use as well. The match was well received at the time, in particular by MycroProcessor who was following it closely in its match page[1]. The loud, colorful nature of the match as well as the popularity of both players (and memes) has kept this match popular up to the present day.

While the match generally followed a vanilla format, there were special restrictions put in place on video length and sources: [2]

  • Each video 25 to 40 seconds long
  • First 4 rounds must have video game-related sources only (footage, let's plays, etc.)
  • Last 4 rounds must have animation sources only (TV shows, etc.)

While source additions ended up becoming less of a focus as the match progressed, some that could be seen in this match were:

  • "Gaming" - Quake 3, Aerofighters, Kirby Super Star, Kirby and the Crystal Shards, the "Witch Doctor" music video from Pump It Up, Hexen II, Rayman for the GameBoyAdvance, Prince of Persia (NES), Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit (1998).
  • "Animation" - "Helping helps", "Petunia's Summer Smoochie", "Giggles Smoochie" from Happy Tree Friends, "Finty Birdy" from Tom and Jerry.

This is Sploltoen's third completed match[3], as well as Piodx's twenty-fifth[4]. This is also the first of two matches between these two players, with the second one, starting on the 4th of July 2010 and of the same serving order, failing after five rounds.
