| Serve | The first round of a tennis match. | |
| Multiserve | A serve that is meant to start many matches, usually 3 or more. | |
| Round | One of the videos of a tennis match. | |
| Volley | Any round in a match that isn't the first. | |
| Match | A full, closed sequence of rounds, played between a group (1+) of players. | |
| Rotation | A single sequence of rounds between players before the volleying order is repeated. | Used most often by dani_phantump |
| Side | A single players contributions(rounds) in a match. | Used most often by dani_phantump |
| Rematch | A match between a group that has happened more than once (for example: GameBop vs. MycroProcessor (rematch)) | |
| Match Meme | A joke or commonality that remains prevalent throughout the majority of the match. Rarely used. | |
| Tournament | "Competitive" tennis events, often hosted by the tennis staff. | Tennis Tournaments |
| Staff | The "leaders" of the tennis community, they moderate any tennis subforums, post and update rosters in the same subforums, host tournaments and are generally the most passionate and knowledgable when it comes to tennis, being that they are usually the most active in the community in a positive way. | Tennis Staff |
| Tennis Theory | The "theory" of how tennis works, often deep conversations about what tennis truly means, is, how it could and/or should be played, and its varying complex sciences and any interpretive findings. | Existed as early as the initial tennis discussions between RabbitSnore and Crash2991, given its own thread by RAKninja for the first time in 2008 |
| Puzzle Piece | A segment of a video that is rendered out separately, usually to speed up rendering time or build something otherwise not normally possible. | Puzzle Pieces |
| Roster | A list of all of your matches, usually in document or spreadsheet form. You can include as little or as much info as you want, including players you want to play and games that haven't started yet! | |
| Plugin | A program that adds extra functionality to another program (usually effects to a video editor in the case of tennis | |
| Effect | A video/audio filter | |
| VST | A second/third-party audio plugin. Most (but not all) are in the VST or VST3 format hence the name | |
| Duel | A special type of tennis where sources are carried over, rather than videos being volleyed | Duels |
| Erosion | A historical term referring to the intentional use of overly destructive filters and effects to make the previous video completely unrecognizable | |
| Trapezoidium | A term referred to the excessive use of complex (usually 3D) visuals, often for the sake of showing off | Coined by nm41 |
| Intermission | A video that is part of the match but not part of the "main sequence" of videos (usually as filler material when watching in full) | |
| Communication | The overall way in which the ideas and concepts of a match are used by the players, whether that includes those ideas being iterated upon or discarded. | |
| Constructive | The addition of sources and the iteration of ideas within a match - 'adding on' to the concepts of the previous round | |
| Destructive | Similar to "Erosion" - 'destroying' to the concepts of the round |
