TheChutley + trepmaws vs. GameBop + MycroProcessor was a Youtube Poop/Video Doubles tennis match played as a part of the Doubles Cup 1, taking place between March 15 and April 13, 2009. It was a part of the Set 3 lineup of matches, the semifinal set of this tournament, in which GameBop and MycroProcessor had previously defeated quax94 + TheSfarioBros and TheChutley, while partnered with vvaluigi, had previously defeated Template:SergeantBacon + FuturesPassed. trepmaws had originally been the partner of JackTron7000, the pair of whom had originally been defeated by TheChutley and vvaluigi in Set 1. With vvaluigi dropping out at this point, trepmaws received an atypical second wind in being allowed to rejoin the competition as a replacement player on TheChutley's team. This was the first of many times that TheChutley and trepmaws would collaborate in a tennis match on the same video, in addition to being the second of a further amount of times in a tennis match that MycroProcessor and GameBop would collaborate on the same video. It was the first ever time that any of the players on their respective sides of the match had faced each other. Sources added include Arashi No Yoru Ni(One Stormy Night)(2005), Tombstone(1993), the opening to Reading Rainbow, "Wilderness 2"(2009) by Whelt, the music video for "Breathe Again" (2007) by Fear Zero, the music videos for "Stricken"(2005) and "Land of Confusion" (2005) by Disturbed, the music video for "Dare to be Stupid"(1985) by "Weird Al" Yankovic, the Phillips CD-i logo, Boes / Ox Tales, Lilliput Put, Ovide and the Gang, Iron Man: The Animated Series, I.M. Meen (PC, 1995), Obsidian (PC, 1997), Myst(PC, 1993), Forever Worlds(PC, 2004), RHEM (PC, 2002), RHEM 3: The Secret Library (PC, 2008), Animusic, music from Seiklus(PC, 2003), the opening theme to Fawlty Towers, and "A silly edited still image from Rhem with Pokemon R/S team Magma/Aqua secret base music to go with it." [1]
This was the ninth complete match played by TheChutley, the second complete match played by trepmaws, the 20th complete match played by GameBop and the eighth complete match played by MycroProcessor. All members of this match would eventually become members of the tennis staff; GameBop at the time was the most senior member, having been on staff for almost a year, and MycroProcessor had become the most recent addition to the staff a matter of weeks earlier - TheChutley and trepmaws would both become separately added in the years to follow. It was TheChutley's second match following her Round 2 with PassStrengthNull to introduce I.M. Meen as a new signature in her recurring source pool, and the first match with which she used it as part of her serve, something which would be done with great frequency across her 2009 matches. This is also the earliest match with MycroProcessor's participation to feature mention of the electric-type pokemon Jolteon, with the particular phrase "YOU ARE JOLTOEN YOU'RE ARE SHARP!" making its first appearance at the tail end of the match's final round. YTPMV segments appear across the match starting in trepmaws' Round 3, which increase in musical complexity by the match's end, making for what then becomes the match's most signature and memorable element. Considered to represent the peak vanguard of this era of tennis in terms of pacing, energy and complexity, TheChutley + trepmaws vs. GameBop + MycroProcessor has often been considered to be one of the greatest and most enduring doubles matches of all time and easily the most popular match to have been played in the Doubles Cup 1, being noted as a favorite of players such as Futures Passed, TheNeopreneJunebug, ChrisGendo, 3tp / providence and gabrielpika, among many others. The match's influence and legacy has continued to grow over time as all four players came to be viewed each as legendary in their own right through their subsequent matches; it was referenced considerably when trepmaws and TheChutley played each other directly in the Grey Tennis Tournament, and when TheChutley and trepmaws produced their most recent collaboration to date, "HI BATMAN I'M CRUNK"(2014, a Round 2 to dani_phantump). Additionally, Round 2 of MycroProcessor vs. ChrisGendo vs. JakeSteel(2010) pays a small tribute to this match's use of Tombstone by featuring a similar clip of a shotgun firing applied with reverb and color curves. TheChutley has subsequently been involved in multiple matches with the other three players, playing GameBop once, MycroProcessor four times(a 2009 1v1, a 2010 1v1, a fondly remembered encounter in the Three-Way Tennis Tournament and in a one-second multi-way match) and trepmaws twice (the above-mentioned match and in a Touhou-themed three-way match with ChrisGendo). trepmaws played alongside GameBop in the Doubles Cup 2 and then directly with GameBop in Set 2 of the Tennis Cup 4. MycroProcessor continued to appear in many different match configurations with GameBop and has also subsequently met every other player of the match in real life, making for a rare instance of such a match having such a degree of in-person connection take place.
All rounds of the match continue to survive in their original uploads. It was first compiled on TheChutley's "Yeltch" account as early as October 2009, and was subsequently uploaded to "TheChutley Archive" in June 2015. A "remastered" compilation of the match is planned for the YouWouldBeWelcome account to take advantage of better copies of all the rounds being still available.
