Tennis Terminology
Term Description Notes
Serve The first round of a tennis match.
Multiserve A serve that is meant to start many matches, usually 3 or more.
Round One of the videos of a tennis match.
Volley Any round in a match that isn't the first.
Match A full, closed sequence of rounds, played between a group (1+) of players.
Rematch A match between a group that has happened more than once (for example: GameBop vs. MycroProcessor (rematch))
Match Meme A joke or commonality that remains prevalent throughout the majority of the match.
Tournament "Competitive" tennis events, often hosted by the tennis staff. Tennis Tournaments

Tennis Theory The "theory" of how tennis works, often deep conversations about what tennis truly means.
Puzzle Piece A segment of a video that is rendered out separately, usually to speed up rendering time or build something otherwise not normally possible. Puzzle Pieces
Roster A list of all of your matches, usually in document or spreadsheet form. You can include as little or as much info as you want, including players you want to play and games that haven't started yet!
Plugin A program that adds extra functionality to another program (usually effects to a video editor in the case of tennis
Effect A video/audio filter
VST A type of audio effect
Duel A special type of tennis where sources are carried over, rather than videos being volleyed Duels
Erosion A historical term referring to the intentional use of overly destructive filters and effects to make the previous video completely unrecognizable
Intermission A video that is part of the match but not part of the "main sequence" of videos (usually as filler material when watching in full)
