ytptennis.com is a website whose purpose is to be the "ultimate resource for video tennis". It's also the website you're currently browsing!
The webmaster is mrdoognoog, while the wiki is maintained by the Tennis Staff.
History
During the era of YouChew, the Chewiki was the de-facto home for all information about YTP and YTP Tennis. While it focused more on YTP, almost all tennis related information could be found on the site. It had guides on what was what, how to perform certain edits, sources, and etc. However, in 2018, YouChew, as well as the Wiki, shut down. Even with YTPMania, no replacement wiki was ever made, leaving an information vacuum in its place. People still had archives of the wiki, but it fell further and further out of date and the immaturity of the page quality quickly began to show with age.
ytptennis.com was purchased in the summer of 2024 by mrdoognoog. From there, the website became a hobby project, slowing being built as the days went on. Eventually, the site was shown off to the world, and staff members were invited to help contribute... and that's where we are now! There's still a long way to go.
Features
Current features:
- ytptenniswiki - the most important part of the website, a wiki for all things tennis.
In the future, new parts of the website are planned:
- A database of all matches, creating a "super roster" of every game ever played
- A showroom for storing match archives
- News/Blog articles written by the community
A few things that will never be implemented:
- A forum. A private "helper server" exists on discord, but that's it. We have YellowTealPurple and TTI: that's plenty.
- "Full" archives. Videos are big! Showrooms will only use YouTube links, etc.
