TheChutley vs. quax94 is a YouTube Poop/Video tennis match that took place between February 15 and April 20, 2009. It was one of the very first matches to use the then very recently discovered "high quality" cutscene rips from Hotel Mario(CD-I, 1994), and as such uses these cutscenes as its main source over the course of the match. Other sources added into the match include TheChutley's early source signatures of the music video for Fear Zero's "Breathe Again"(2009), the Iron Man animated series, the intro from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! and the music video for Daler Mendhi's "Tunak Tunak Tun"(1998). Interestingly, quax94 does not add anything until the match's final round, where he adds in a musical sequence from the Indian film Donga(1985) of the song "Golimaar" being performed, noted for its very similar resemblance to Michael Jackson's "Thriller"(1982) music video. At the same time that this match was occurring, both players were also deep into a four-way match with piodx and HTFFan8500, which would finish a week before this match.
This was the 11th tennis match played by TheChutley and the sixth match to be played by quax94. A recurring motif across rounds is the introduction of Ed Sadler singing "YeeeEEEEEAAAAH" through a significant crack in his voice at the end of Round 3, which is then progressively edited over multiple times until indistinguishable, much like the rest of the sources from the serve. At Round 5, a single beat of the Hotel Mario HQ intro is added back in at the very end of the video, which is subsequently edited in much more of a simple manner. The match is remembered for an abundant use of "mirror" and "swirl" effects used throughout all 8 rounds, with any layer compositing usage only surfacing towards the end. Due to the great linearity at which the match progresses, with only slight/occasional breaks in event continuity before the final two rounds, this match is considered to be a good beginniner-to-intermediate match to show to prospective new tennis players. It was one of the first matches to be seen by dani_phantump.
quax94 privated the entirety of his dedicated YTP and tennis work, but copies of his rounds of the match are available to view into the present due to TheChutley keeping dedicated archives of all of her matches. The match was compiled as early as October 2009 on her original "Yeltch" archive account, and was subsequently also uploaded to "TheChutley Archive" in June 2015.
