Meteo, also known as AVI-2-GBA is a program that lets you convert video files into Gameboy Advance Video roms.

While this can be useful for aesthetic effects (or just playing stuff on your GBA), it is most commonly done for Databending techniques paired with ROM corruptors, providing a unique way to create glitchy effects.

Usage

Meteo 1.3.1's interface.

Using Meteo is fairly straightforward.

  1. Render the sequence you want as a ROM as an AVI, MPG or MPEG file.
  2. Open Meteo and put the path of the rendered file under "Movie File".
  3. Set the GBA ROM file to save wherever you want. Most emulators look for *.gba for Gameboy Advance ROMs.
  4. Set the ROM title to whatever you want.
  5. Set the bitrate to whatever you want, but keep it higher for more "intense" videos.
  6. Ignore the conversion settings unless you know what you are doing.
  7. Click "Process", and you're done! Load the ROM in an emulator or put the file on a flash cart to view your creation.
