chemistryguy vs. TimoteiLSD was a Youtube Poop/video tennis match that took place between January 26 and April 13, 2012. The major "high profile" tennis match to occur in this year, it captured a period in which both players were at their considerable height of popularity in YTP, and was thus rooted in the simpler, more accessible humorous conventions both specialized in for the benefit of their respective audiences. Despite this description, the density of the editing between players is still noticeable, with heavy stutters and layering, including a liberal amount of masking of multiple characters, being used throughout. The main source of the match is Suess of the Loose(1973), specifically the oft-remixed segment that focuses on the animated telling of Dr. Suess' Green Eggs and Ham(1960), but also includes Jake and the Neverland Pirates, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Iznogoud, Funny Horsie, Teen Titans, Postman Pat, the Street Fighter animated series, LazyTown(Season 1 Episode 12 - "Rottenbeard"(2004), specifically its famous "You Are a Pirate" musical segment), footage of Professor David Bailey, footage of Tõnis Mägi performing "Aeg on lahkuda"(2003; "It's Time to Leave" in English), Castaway(2000), Hook(1991), Pulp Fiction(1994), Varokaa heikkoa jäätä(1986), the Jerry Reed song "East Bound and Down"(1977), the Electric Light Orchestra song "Turn to Stone"(1977), the Billy Joel song "Piano Man"(1973), the Elton John song "Candle in the Wind"(1973), the Nine Inch Nails song "Closer"(1994), the Katy Perry song "Firework"(2010), the Kool & The Gang song "Jungle Boogie"(1973), the Kirka & The Islanders song "Hetki Lyö (Beat the Clock)"(1968), the Supertramp song "Take The Long Way Home"(1979), the ABBA song "Dancing Queen"(1976), the Antti Tuisku song "Juuret"(2009), and the music video for the Rick Astley song "Lights Out"(2010).

The title of the serve's origin is, according to chemistryguy, who was old enough to be the father of at-the-time two young children: "We have a saying in our house; "Don't be a Sam". That is to say, don't be someone who isn't afraid to try new things. I realize that it is NOT Sam who is refusing green food, but Seuss neglected to let the world know his fucking name."[1] Lengthy portions of TimoteiLSD's final round feature an original sequence both animated and voiced entirely by him, featuring chemistryguy and himself in an absurdist crime thriller standoff. chemistryguy said of the final round "The [video] was fantastic and your animation is top notch. This was funny and poignant and you had me on the edge of my seat. You have saluted me, and I now salute you sir. Well played."[2] One commenter additionally regarded the match as "Truly the best YTP Tennis to have ever existed."[3] While a forum-based page was never made for this match, all rounds continue to survive in their original uploads and it remains one of the most popular tennis matches ever played, with viewcount between rounds ranging between 32,000 and 166,000 views. It was first compiled into a single video on the YouWouldBeWelcome account in May 2025.
