theHappyFungus vs. RAKninja is a Youtube Poop/Video tennis match that took place between March 16 and 19, 2008. Among the last to be played on the "Vanilla" era YouChew forums, it was one of a series of matches played during the Spring and Summer of 2008 that saw the consolidation of the first generation of tennis staff as players, friends and community presences. These matches include theHappyFungus vs. RabbitSnore, Crash2991 vs. NS2, theHappyFungus vs. Nuthead, Crash2991 vs. RAKninja, Crash2991 vs. strong414bad, RabbitSnore vs. Nuthead, theHappyFungus vs. NS2, and Nuthead vs. NS2. It is the earliest known match in which anime makes up almost the entire source pool, with Norm Augustinus' appearance in Round 1 and 3, audio of Captain Falcon's "Falcon Punch" from Super Smash Bros. Melee(GCN, 2001) and audio exerpts from the Donald no uwasa commercials featuring Ronald McDonald being the sole exceptions, and otherwise includes the sources Arashi No Yoru Ni(2005), Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Genesis Climber MOSPEADA, Key The Metal Idol, Puni Puni Poemy, and Golden Boy, which is prominently featured across the entire match starting with Round 2 and makes up material that RAKninja ripped himself from his physical collection. He also tentatively planned to use Tenchi Muyo in the match, but technical difficulties in ripping usable files prevented this from occurring; Devil Lady was also hinted for possible use.^[1]^[2] Round 1 ends with a brief prompt instructing "INSERT ANIMAL SEX HERE"; as a result, every subsequent round ends or features a different playful, juvenile and ultimately harmless depiction of this.

It was the sixth match completed by theHappyFungus^[3] and the second match completed by RAKninja^[4]. A specific clip of Golden Boy main character Kintaro exclaiming "THOUSAND DOLLARS!" was the most repeated and defining moment of the match, with Crash2991 in particular expressing enjoyment of it^[5], and this moment reappeared subsequently as another signature moment when he and RAK faced each other following this match. Along with Crash2991 vs. NS2(2008) and RetardedAnimeParody vs. MAZZ0Murder(2008) -- which both began concurrently with this match -- and soon after theHappyFungus vs. NS2(2008), this marked the beginning of anime, namely of an older/classic variety, beginning to make a lasting footprint within tennis culture, with many players largely within the inner circle of the tennis community subsequently featuring a broad scope of different selections in their matches for the next few years. Both players would attempt to rematch each other in early 2009, in what Happy described as "THE ULTIMATE RE-FUCK", but this attempt -- which by contrast featured no anime whatsoever -- only lasted 2 rounds.^[6]

RAKninja's rounds continue to survive in their original uploads despite being privated for a time in the early 2010s. theHappyFungus' rounds became lost when her channel was terminated by action from a third party (likely that of Norm Augustinus) in the mid-2010's, but were all restored through the efforts of The Great Restoration. It was first compiled into a single video on the YouWouldBeWelcome account in March 2026.
