Stegblob vs. TyrannosaurusReich was a Youtube Poop/Video tennis match that took place between October 27 and est. November 16, 2007. Stegblob had at this point already become a major figure in the world of YTP, as her signature solo video "Robotnik Gets a Viagra Overdose"(2007), which introduced "Pingas" into internet culture, had already been making waves after only 6 months. Excitement was high when she announced that "Because I feel left out"[1], that she was seeking to try out tennis for the first time, explaining "The main reason behind this is because of the stress i've been going through recently[...]I think that before I can go on to making normal [YTPs] again, I need some "Different" things." She also requested "Because I dont even know it works properly, I'd rather not play with a noob at this time."[2] Stegblob received tennis offers or expressions of interest from Deeprcutt, azsxdc, SeductiveBaz, MrSimon/The Electric Cheese, MrDrunkenFox, Claculate900, KG4, Xillatem, PapaGonzales, and DrKelexo before Stegblob selected TyrannosaurusReich "FOR SOME REASON", who was evidently the most excited about a chance to play her.[3] Sources added include The O’Reilly Factor, Street Fighter(1994), Street Fighter Alpha: The Animation(2000), Dexter’s Laboratory, one of the Fatal Fury games, the Bible Black anime series, Meet The Heavy, Meet The Demoman, Meet The Soldier, the 2007 slate of Volvic commercials, and the Earthworm Jim animated series.[4]
It was the only known match played by Stegblob and the third match played by TyrannosaurusReich, and was the 42nd tennis match ever played. RabbitSnore subsequently noted that this was "a rare match which received an uncommonly high amount of publicity"[5], with every round achieving between thousands and tens of thousands of views[6]. PapaGonzales declared by Round 2 that it was already "the most epic tennis match i've ever seen!" which UncleChuckTH agreed with, even saying "This one's even cooler than Conrad's game with Miss10."[7] valkiriforce, many years before he would begin making videos himself, can be spotted in the comments of Round 1 circa 2007 quoting the moment where Robotnik says "I'll drive him off the planet! UH-HUH-HUH-HUH-HUH-HUH-HUH-HUH"[8]. He subsequently made another comment in late 2024, specifying that "A friend and I used to quote random parts of this video in high school."[9] Round 1 was, according to 50percentgrey, also considered to be one of MrSimon's favorite YTPs of all time.[10] TyrannosaurusReich subsequently expressed "I hate how round 4 came out. I could've done better."[11] RabbitSnore published a review of this match in which he considered TyrannosaurusReich's Round 6 to be his favorite, and summarized the match thusly:
"This match had been called, by at least one person, the "tennis match of the year." Indeed, watching this match was akin to watching Zues and Odin duel in the sky. Neither [YTPer] seemed inferior; every round produced a [YTP] worth watching. Other [YTPers] can learn from the example of this match that tennis is all about novel usage: the best thing you can do to make a [YTP] effective and original is to corrupt audio and video in a way that it has rarely or never been done before. Calling one of these [YTPers] the winner of the match was difficult decision for me. This match was epic."[12]
Oddly, the original match thread for Stegblob vs. TyrannosaurusReich did not seem to survive YouChew's forum transitions, as it never resurfaced when the Vanilla-era posts were re-integrated into the Invision-era website, leaving surviving evidence of the match when it took place only on The Wayback Machine through an intricate archive of the Vanilla forums made in late October 2007. Crash2991 included the match as one of 25 match thread included from the then-inaccessible Vanilla YouChew forums in the old Tennis: Archives section on April 7, 2008, then later posted on September 1, "Is anybody gonna reupload these?", indicating that TyrannosaurusReich's side of the match likely disappeared this early.[13] TyrannosaurusReich's side of the match remains currently lost, and his account was terminated sometime in the mid-2010s. Stegblob's rounds continue to survive, albiet unlisted, as of February 2026.
