Youtube Poop, commonly referred as YTP is a subclass of video art that involves arbitrary, usually (but not always!) humorous, edits of existing media into a completely new video. The term was coined by DukeOfFortuneMan.
It is considered the father of Tennis, with the mother being Photoshop Tennis.
History
This version of YTP history pertains specifically to things relevant to tennis. YTP as a whole has a much deeper lore than what you see here, so don't take this at face value!
2004
"I'D SAY HE'S HOT ON OUR TAIL" is released to the world. It wasn't on YouTube yet, but it is considered the first ever "youtube poop". Edits of this style have existed since at least the 40's, but this one is the one that started the movement that would become YTP.
2006
"I'D SAY HE'S HOT ON OUR TAIL" is put onto YouTube.
2007
Conradslater vs. Misselaineous10, the first ever Tennis match, begins.
2018
YouChew shuts down.
In August, YTPMania opens up, becoming the new hub for the YTP/Tennis world. Around this time, The Tennis Isles becomes the de facto hub for all tennis stuff.
2024
YellowTealPurple opens up as the spiritual successor to YTPMania, which shuts down at the end of the year. Almost immediately, 3WTT2 is begun to celebrate the new site.
