Match Page (to be added)

CorruptionSound vs. Massivezephyr14/djninjalovemistake vs. GameBop vs. Sploltoen vs. Metroid998, also known unofficially as the Vanilla WMM 5-Way, was a Youtube Poop/Video tennis Multi-Way Match that took place between March 12, 2010 and October 24, 2011, though the match proper didn't actually officially commence until October 9, 2010, the date that Round 2 was first posted. All five players in the match were required to only use Windows Movie Maker and without the surplus of custom effects and transitions that dominated previous WMM events such as the Windows Movie Master, thus making it "vanilla". This was the second time that GameBop and Sploltoen had been in a direct tennis exchange together since their Set 2 match in the 3-Way Tennis Tournament, the second time that CorruptionSound and Metroid998 had been in a direct tennis exchange together following their concurrent three-way with PerfectCell33/NEVERGONNAGETIT92000, the second time that Sploltoen and Metroid998 shared a direct tennis change following their concurrent 1v1 match, and the first time that any players would encounter either Massivezephyr14 (during their brief yet amusing existence in the tennis community) or djninjalovemistake, for whom this was among the latter's earlier tennis contributions. GameBop was the only player for whom Windows Movie Maker was their original editor of choice when first making videos, and this was their third match played with the software following SesakaGenX (Match #1) and Emperor Ing. Sources are added very minimally across the match, and include "Vintheta Furacão 2000 (Ao Vivo)"(2000) by Furacão 2000, a short video clip and Pokemon card of a Sandshrew, Happy Tree Friends, footage of Riley Francis (the younger brother of LeSuperKoffee, who on YouTube at the time uploaded short clips under the name BoobyMcBoobBoobs), Sonic Adventure 2(Dreamcast, 2001), an animation cel from The Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog featuring a considerably "naked" Robotnik, Pokemon Black and White(DS, 2010), Ninja: Silent Assassin(1987), VHS tape footage and text and titles generated within the software. [Note: Source list incomplete]

DaftPunkYoshi was offered to participate in the match, which would have made this his final match played with Windows Movie Maker, but he was unable to and declined.[1] Among the first matches played to treat Windows Movie Maker as a post-contemporary "legacy" software, this was the 14th match completed by CorruptionSound, the first match to feature the participation of Massivezephyr14, the 13th match to feature a contribution from djninjalovemistake, the 48th match completed by GameBop, the 17th match completed by Sploltoen, and the 33rd match completed by Metroid998. Much of the match is defined by the creative choices taken in Round 3, with the word SANDSHREW being recognizable through every round from this point until the final rotation, where belated source additions finally supersede it. The match is only broken from its "no custom effects" theme in Massivezephyr14's Round 2, due to its use of an Invert and 3D effect[2], with his Round 7 additionally responding to Round 3 instead of Round 6 before he dropped out.[3] The match is remembered today for its lo-fi feeling, largely abstract visual content, and above-average intricate audio work for such software, which bears the resemblance of electronic, experimental, glitch, IDM and noise music, and has thus been an enduring influence on players such as vel 17.

Massivezehpyr14's Round 2 and 7 were reuploaded on December 1, 2011 by CorruptionSound himself[4], and all other rounds have continued to survive in their original uploads. The match was first compiled into a single video for the YouWouldBeWelcome account in December 2025.

Layout

The match is a standard multi-way, 3 rotations of 5 people = 15 rounds.

djninjalovemistake (known at the time as FirstRateSmasher) replaced Massivezephyr14 for the final rotation (round 12).
