dani_phantump vs. Dozzyrok vs. vel 17 is a match that took place from May 28, 2023 to September 14, 2025. The rounds in the match were originally uploaded as unlisted/hidden videos and was initially planned to be made public once complete, but was made public early on August 31, 2024 following the release of dani_phantump’s Round 7 and fer return to the tennis community. This was the tenth time since 2011 that vel 17 and dani_phantump had participated in a match together, as well as their first tennis interaction entirely since 2016, and the first time that either player had been in a match with Dozzyrok. It was the 120th match completed by dani_phantump, the 3rd match completed by Dozzyrok and the 44th match completed by vel 17. It was the only match dani_phantump played in between fer 2nd departure from tennis in 2022 following fer and Metroid998’s Doubles Cup 4 match with infinitysnapz and EdotJdot, and fer eventual return in August 2024 marked by the commencement of fer rematch with vel 17 and match with audry. This match was the one exception to dani_phantump’s hiatus from tennis in 2022-24; according to fer opening post in the YellowTealPurple forums thread for this match:
"i was originally retired from tennis around the time this started, but then i got to meet irl the other two people that are a part of this match and sometime later, they met me with a Proposition. they wanted to do a three way with me, and they wanted me to serve. this was originally a match played privately, known only to us and the members of dozzy's discord server. it has very quickly blossomed into a match that i cherish very greatly, one that i have had an immense amount of fun with, and i finally made it public on August 31st of this year. im very excited for the last two rounds!"
dani_phantump had developed and re-established close friendships with the other two participants, subsequently moving across country to share a real life house with them sometime before Round 5 had been finished. With these unique circumstances, Round 6 and 7 feature a exchange where vel 17 and dani_phantump, now living together in the same unit, add in filmed footage with different cameras that begin on their same microwave, and then both proceed to capture opposite sides of their house interior, with dani_phantump showing a brief glimpse of fer desktop computer displaying the open project file for Round 7.
The match is considered by some in the modern community to be one of the most heartfelt and touching tennis matches in history, full of camaraderie in ways few other tennis matches are. It was first compiled as a single video on the YouWouldBeWelcome account in September 2025, upon its completion.
