The concept of Breaking the Fourth Wall is a concept that is seen in many different forms of media, where the hypothetical "fourth wall" between the reality of the art and the reality we live in is broken.

Usage

A fourth wall break can refer to many different things, but as long as you're 'breaking the boundaries' of what should be referenced in a scene, it counts.

The most common 4th wall break in tennis is for the video to suddenly cut to the editor that the player is using to make said video.
