Kdenlive works similarly to other MLT-based NLE editors.
==Changing Speed==
While kdenlive can change footage speed, it is a bit more intricate of a process than other editors:
* Go to the project bin and right click the footage.
* Select "Clip Jobs" -> "Duplicate Clip with Speed Change".
* Set the new speed to the desired value. Set to negative for reverse.
* This will create a new clip with a ".mlt" extension in your project bin. Replace the old footage with the updated one to use it.<ref>https://superuser.com/questions/1381953/how-to-reverse-a-clip-on-kdenlive</ref>
Alternatively, there exists a graph editor for time remapping that can be accessed by right clicking the footage, enabling Time Remapping, then modifying it to your heart's content in the Time Remapping panel.
==Effects==
Kdenlive uses frei0r as its effect package.
