The rematch of Sid vs. LaVie CestLol, more well known as the Dialect of Silent Stars is a YouTube Poop/Video tennis match that took place from the 9th to the 23rd of January, 2016. The match was part of the first set of the first Match Voting Tournament, which encouraged players to work together to create more memorable matches rather than simply out-do each other. For this match in particular, Sid and Lavie presented their game as a "choose your own adventure" to each other, where each round had three paths the next player could take. The next round volleyed only that path, with three new paths to explore. For the final round, LaVie simply presented three different alternate endings (one split up into three endings of its own).
Initial rounds follow a path of "running" through the streets of France [citation needed], before eventually developing into the political conquest of Kuu the Owl by match end. The match was well received by its viewers, with many positive comments on the match page.[1]
The paths of each video could be accessed through YouTube annotations that would seek you ahead to that part of the video. Unfortunately with the discontinuation of annotations in early 2019 these no longer work.[2] Archives of these annotations also have yet to resurface.
The idea of multiple responses to the same concept was not unique to this match, or even this set of the tournament; A similar idea was approached by French player NataliaHTTPS for their match with SonicGLMytp. Both this match and Dialect of Silent Stars got enough votes to bring their players onto the next round. Lavie would unfortunately be eliminated in the second set with Gabrielpika, while Sid would make it all the way to the semi-finals (set 4) before dropping out.[3]
The title of each round corresponded to the "path" that was taken: Prologue - Run - Multiplication - Betrayal - Obsession - End.
It was the 67th match played by Sid (40th completed)[4] and the 41st match completed by LaVie CestLol[5]. It is the second match played between the two in 1v1 format (also in the same serving order), however they also have played many other matches together within larger groups. Like the original, their rematch has a heavy focus on IRL footage (in particular, Kuu the Owl).
