djninjalovemistake vs. AshcrementVII accounts for two matches with the same lineup of players, with the first match taking place between April 8 and May 18, 2011. It was played as a part of GameBop's Tennis Shuffle, a mid-2011 event casual-in-scope that was meant to create matches based on randomized lineups in lieu of there being no tournaments currently taking place; at the time the final match of the 3-Way Tennis Tournament was still considered to be indefinitely stalled, and the Doubles Cup 2 was still 5 months out from taking place. Much of the match revolves around the use of the early Studio Gainax anime Gunbuster, which first appears towards the end of the serve and is subsequently made a main feature of the match from Ashcrement's Round 2 onward, along with the Pokemon animated series as a secondary feature. This is reinforced by the recurring appearances of a gif of Palpitoad and a gif of the Pokemon tennis player (used for djninja's "FirstRateSmasher" alias' avatar) from Pokemon Black + White(DS, 2010) and various images of recurring Pokemon Champion Cynthia/Shirona across the match. The original OVA for Patlabor: The Mobile Police is added in the final round of the match, with Ashcrement teasing the mystery connection between it and Gunbuster in his video description(likely alluding to the fact that voice actress Noriko Hidaka, who portrays Gunbuster main character Noriko Takaya, also portrays Prince Uru in Patlabor).

Described as "A very visual match" by Ashcrement[1], this match is very driven by erosive, composite-based editing based around the use of music both sourced and remixed from existing footage, with most rounds ending with at least a partial YTPMV. It was the ninth match played by djninjalovemistake and the fifth match played by AshcrementVII.

The second match between these two players took place between January 14 and February 1, 2016. It was played as a part of Set 1 of the Match Voting Tournament (also hosted by GameBop) and was in comparison to the former match a lot more whimsical and humorous. The main feature of this match is King Harkinian from Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon(CD-I, 1993) saying "dinner"; a simple, yet effective theme that sees comedic usage and exploration across all 6 rounds. Other sources added include Dexter's Laboratory, Pulp Fiction(1994), Hotel Mario(CD-I, 1994), Kill la Kill, Monster Strike: The Animation, K-ON!, Lupin III Part IV: The Italian Adventure, Ninja: Silent Assassin(1987), Blazing Saddles(1974), the History Channel series Ancient Aliens, Breaking Bad, footage of Japanese wrestler Asuka, footage of American wrestlers Brock Lesnard and the Briscoe Brothers, interview footage of Lemmy Kilmister, a gif of Terry Bogard from The King of Fighters '94(Neo-Geo, 1994), and the hip hop track "BxtchesxBxcon (feat. Nefelibata)" by Almadrio, KolbyWoods, Crookid and Breevie.[Note: source list incomplete]

This was the 49th match to be played by AshcrementVII and the final full standard 1v1 match to be played by djninjalovemistake before his death in October 2016. With both players clearly having a lot of fun in this match, it saw them both diving fully into the comedic spirit of its themes, including the making of a DINNER CLUB image macro that is then edited into SPAGHETTI CLUB and finally ASUKA CLUB by the match's end.[2] In a light callback to their original match, every round features a YTPMV segment somewhere in the video, now being given a lot more prominence with a focus on musically remixing moments from various sources in the match that would sound funny in the manner of a more classic-leaning take on this idiom. The full match was one of the best received matches to happen in the first set of the Match Voting Tournament, receiving an average score of 8.24, the second highest of of the 15 matches that passed beaten only by Sid vs. LaVieCestLol(2016). Metroid998 remarked of this match "I hope there's enough room for dessert after this extraordinary feast."[3]This match was compiled into a single video on the YouWouldBeWelcome account in May 2025.

Both matches are additionally notable in that they were between two of the oldest ever members to be active in the tennis community throughout its history, with djninjalovemistake in particular holding the distinction of having been the oldest ever regular tennis player. Their first match together was played when they were respectively 31/32 and 29, and their second match was played when they were 35/36 and 33.
