The commencement of the tournament coincided with a surprising turn of events in the community, in which several veteran members suddenly made a comeback starting in August of that year, both before and after the launch of the YellowTealPurple forums which was largely spearheaded by {{dew}} and infinitysnapz, its two lead admins. It is thus seen, in more ways than one, as the beginning of a bright new era for tennis, parallel to how the original instance of this tournament ended up marking a transition of eras in and of itself. TheChutley and GameBop were the only two players returning from the original [[3-Way Tennis Tournament]]; Additional veteran trepmaws also started a "Three-Way Lobby Shuffle" parallel event to make up for all the player slots being filled but there being double the amount of players interested in participating. This marks trepmaws' own return to tennis after a roughly 7 year gap of any video activity in addition. All current members of the [[tennis staff]] except for AngryLuigi23 were able to secure spots in the tournament.
