Emperor Ing vs. theHappyFungus is YouTube Poop/Video tennis match that took place on the YouChew forums between November 12 and December 27, 2008. Dubbed by Emperor Ing as "The Lord of the Tennis", the entire match was themed strictly around material from adaptations of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings series of books, and included material such as The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring(2001), The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers(2002), Ralph Bakshi's The Lord of the Rings(1978) and the Rankin-Bass adaptions of The Hobbit(1977) and The Return of the King(1980).

This was the second match played by Emperor Ing to be given an unofficial title, and follows a rough and loose silly storyline of "Frodo and Sass" attempting to take the "Gimli, Son of Gloin"(later turned into "Gloimly, Son of Gin" or simply "the Gloimly") to "Momo", running afoul of "ManSaru" and other unpleasant characters along the way. On Emperor Ing's side, this results in a match driven very heavily by its added footage, with responses to the previous round appearing at interstitials throughout, as was the trademark of Ing's earlier tennis style. He observed during this match, "I have noticed that all but one of my Tennis matches have a story behind them. In that I put the time to make a highly unnavigable story into my videos over the course of a tennis match." To further the match's theming, many posts made by Ing during its progress in reference to it invoke memes and playful lore regarding the Lord of the Rings universe, providing a decisive "Middle Earth" atmosphere. The match depends heavily upon intimate, sub-textural knowledge of the Peter Jackson film adaptions and the subliminal moments of comedy to be found therein, as well as that of the animated adaptations and the ways that percieved funny or otherwise amusing moments are focused on by both players.

It was the 4th complete match to be played by Emperor Ing and the 20th complete match to be played by theHappyFungus, as well as her third to last complete match entirely; theHappyFungus would become significantly more inactive over the following year and only make any signifigant tennis contributions during the Tennis Season. The match was praised by tennis regulars including RabbitSnore, RAKninja (who wished he would have taken up the serve when it was first offered), NS2, strong414bad, MAZZ0Murder, Moogle and guysafari, many of who around this period had been coming around to matches of a "classic nature" in general, of which this match very much was. Emperor Ing praised the performance of theHappyFungus in particular, considering it "perfection in its highest state" and saying of her Round 4: " Good lord, this is the best thing, tennis or not, I've seen in a while. You made everything used in the previous rounds and perfected them. You also added new material that is extremely funny on its own. I was laughing out loud throughout the whole thing." Moogle's Round 1 for the Tennis Staff Multiway, "What, do you want me to play with your tail?"(2009), features a segment dedicated to the Ralph Bakshi Lord of the Rings as one of a few direct references to theHappyFungus and Emperor Ing as a result of this match taking place.

Emperor Ing's odd rounds continue to survive in their original uploads. theHappyFungus' rounds have previously been lost since her channel was terminated by action from a third party (likely that of Norm Augustinus) in the mid-2010's, but were all restored through the efforts of The Great Restoration. It was first compiled into a single video on the YouWouldBeWelcome account in March 2026.

Round 1

Description:

One match to rule them all,

and in the darkness, bind them.

So echoes the prophecies of Elrond the Wise, who calls together a council of da best playahs, eveh, to find a solution on destroying the evil Gimli, son of Gloin. It is revealed that only in the land of MoMo in the fires of MMMMM can Gimli be totally destroyed. After the the ultimatum, Arguing breaks out as to who should carry the ring. Gimli is adamantly anti-elf. Elrond is befuddled when Frodo accepts the challenge, but is nonetheless accepting of him to take Gimli to MoMo. The rest of the group offer their weapons and axes, and the Fellowship of Gimli is formed!

The first round of a no-doubt epic confrontation between the forces of Emperor Ingon, son of Fingon, High King of the Noldor, and Lady Fungus, daughter of Rungus (cousin of Rian) of the House of Huor.

Description:

In this exciting follow-up to The Two Gloimlys, The Treason of ManSaru is the next installment of the epic Lord of the Tennis match between Emperor Ingon and Lady Fungus.

In this story, much is dark and gloom-filled in the lands of Earth-Middle, as the tast to destroy the One and Evil Gloimly becomes ever harder. The fellowship of Gimli is split up, as Frodo and Sass are left alone to fend off the might of MoMo.

Meanwhile, Gandalf visits the great Wizard Santa Claus, otherwise known as ManSaru. Seeking advice, it turns out that ManSaru betrays Gandalf, as he wishes to possess the Gloimly for himself. After defeating a RogBal that he unleashed, Gandalf is imprisoned on the fortress of ManSaru. With Gandalf out of the way, ManSaru makes ready his assault on Aragorn and Theoden.

When all hope seems lost, a battalion of Elves under command of Haldir come to join in on a really cool suicide mission. Meanwhile, Elrond keeps on reiterating the same ultimatum of destruction in the fires of MMMMMM.

Description:

In this next installment, the action comes to a boil in the fifth bout between Ingon, son of Fingon, and Lady Fungus, kinswoman of Rian.

ManSaru, determined to capture the Gloimly at all costs, launches an all-out assault on Deep's Helm, courtesy of his boys, who are buoyed on by maggots and medicine. The relentless assault is almost disastorous for Theoden and Aragorn, but a last minute save by Gandalf, back from his duel with the RogBal, saves the day.

However, this does not mean the war is finished. ManSaru lost Deep's Helm, but the power of the Gloimly gorws ever stronger on Frodo and Sass as they make their way towards MMMMM in the land of MoMo. THe Gloimly's power starts to weaken Frodo, and draws Gollum out of his reverie to attack the two Hobbits.

At the foot of the source of all evil, a great storm is brewing. Can these two Hobbits save Youtube Poop from the forces of the Infinite Shadow?
