The '''Tennis Cup''', retrospectively known as '''Tennis Cup 1''', was a [[Tennis Tournament]] hosted initially by Gallers and subsequently by Christoph; it was the first tennis competition based around a player elimination format, the third tournament overall, and the first one to be officially billed as a Tournament. Marking the beginning of the proper YouChew forums era, It ran from May to August 2008 and was the largest tournament to happen at the time, with 32 participants and nearly all of them having considerably at the time some kind of large following either within the community or beyond. Similar to other tournaments of this era, Sets were given a fixed "gameweek" schedule, with every match being required to be completed in two weeks. This was the first tournament to use a separate forum account for collecting votes, being named "John Madden" in this instance. It's eventual winner would be Ishkibibl.
