Microsoft Windows is the flagship Operating System by Microsoft. By far the most popular operating system, Windows has been around for decades and has come in many shapes and colors.
Initially starting as a layer over DOS, Windows quickly evolved into its own environment through the NT branch, becoming completely independent of DOS by Windows XP.
Notable Versions
Windows 1.0
The very first version of Windows, wasn't a terrible amount you could do with it yet, especially for tennis.
Windows 3.1
This was the first version to support Premiere, specifically version 4.2.
Windows 98
This was the first version to support Sony Vegas (at this time Sonic Foundry Vegas 1.0), which had its first release in 1998.
Windows Me
This was the first version to contain Windows Movie Maker. Unfortunately, that's about the only positive thing to say about Windows ME.
